Important notice about fee increase
|
Due to a recent State budget decision, California Community
College enrollment fees have been increased from $20 to $26 per unit effective
immediately for the fall 2009 term. Find out more, or learn how Financial Aid can help.

Important dates
|
August 28 - Last day to add full-term course; Last day to drop a full-term course and be eligible for a refund of fees
September 2 - A.A./A.S. degree or certificate filing period begins
September 5-7 - Holiday - Labor Day - college closed
September 11 - Last day to drop full-term course without a "W" appearing on transcript; Last day to request P/NP option for full-term course
September 25 - Holiday - Native American Day - college closed (Saturday classes are in session)

DVC Student Ambassadors
|
Student Ambassador applications available now
Students interested in applying for a 2009-10 DVC Student
Ambassador position can submit applications now through September 18.
Student Ambassadors assist with high school and middle school outreach
programs, provide campus tours and assist new students with the application and
enrollment process. Positions are available at both the San Ramon
and Pleasant Hill campuses. For more information, including a
complete job description, list of qualifications and an application packet,
visit www.dvc.edu/ambassadors.
Applications also available at the Information Center or SRC Student Services.

Need units? COOP is open! Earn units for your full or part-time work. Download and complete an application today. Last day to register is Friday, August 28.

Please
note the updated hours for student services during the fall 2009 semester. Due to reductions in state funding to major
student services areas, please note that evening services, by and large, have
been reduced to two nights (Tuesday and Wednesday) per week.

Transfer Center

Urgent transfer update!
The
California State University (CSU) system has implemented a system-wide closure for winter/spring 2010 and will not be accepting applications; however, CSU Bakersfield and CSU East Bay may accept applications on an exception basis for certain majors. Please contact a DVC counselor for further
information and course planning to prepare for fall 2010 transfer.

Scholarship office
|
Scholarships are available
for DVC students who are new to or are continuing at DVC or transferring to a
four-year college or university fall 2010. A single application with two
letters of recommendation qualify for multiple scholarships.
The
application period is November 1, 2009 through noon on February 2, 2010.
Stop by the DVC Scholarship office in the Student Services Center for other
scholarship opportunities.

smoke-free. Smoking is permitted in the parking lots only. DVC's smoking policy

Campus Alert System
|
Your attention please...
A loud siren will be heard throughout the DVC campuses on Wednesday, September 2nd at 11 a.m.
This will be a test of our Campus Alert System, which will sound on the first Wednesday of every month at 11 a.m. There is nothing you need to do during a siren test.
In the event of an actual emergency or crisis situation, the siren sound will
continue for three minutes. Students and all campus personnel will be instructed
to Shelter, Shut, and Listen.
