Due to a recent State budget decision, California Community College enrollment fees have been increased from $20 to $26 per unit effective immediately for the fall 2009 term.  Find out more, or learn how Financial Aid can help.

August 3 - Fall open/walk-in registration for all students begins

August 17 - Fall classes begin

August 17-28 - Late enrollment - space available basis

August 28 - Last day to add full-term course; Last day to drop a full-term course and be eligible for a refund of fees

The enrollment fee increase from $20 to $26 per unit is another reason to see if you are eligible for financial aid.

Fill out the FAFSA or the Board of Governors Fee Waiver online or stop by the Financial Aid Office to pick up the forms! Find out more!

Drop-in hours are available with DVC's financial aid staff at the San Ramon Valley Campus.  Drop-in schedule.

Do you need to take the English, math, chemistry or CELSA (ESL) assessment test?  For details and test dates for the Pleasant Hill Campus or the San Ramon Valley Campus.
Student Services
Please note the updated hours for student services during the fall 2009 semester.  Due to reductions in state funding to major student services areas, please note that evening services, by and large, have been reduced to two nights (Tuesday and Wednesday) per week.

Transfer Center
Transfer CenterUrgent transfer update!  The California State University (CSU) system has implemented a system-wide closure for winter/spring 2010 and will not be accepting applications; however, some campuses may accept applications on an exception basis for certain majors.  Please contact a DVC counselor for further information and course planning to prepare for fall 2010 transfer.

Educational Talent Search Program
Educational Talent Search Program Volunteer tutors needed for fall 2009
The Educational Talent Search Program at DVC seeks tutoring volunteers for low income local middle and high school students.  Tutors are needed in a variety of subjects. 

All tutoring is held on the DVC campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-5:30 p.m., and Wednesdays, 3:30-5 p.m.  Interested students should contact Jackie Castellano at jjonesca@dvc.edu.

Learning communities: Ujima program
Looking for Fall classes?  Are you interested in learning how to become a successful college student while learning about the African American experience?  If so, the Ujima program is for you.
New smoking policy
Effective August 14, 2009, the DVC campus will be smoke-free.   Smoking will only be permitted in the parking lots.  DVC's smoking policy
Campus Alert System
$20tuition Your attention please...

A loud siren will be heard throughout the DVC campuses on Wednesday, August 5th at 11 a.m.

This will be a test of our Campus Alert System, which will sound on the first Wednesday of every month at 11 a.m.  There is nothing you need to do during a siren test.

In the event of an actual emergency or crisis situation, the siren sound will continue for three minutes. Students and all campus personnel will be instructed to Shelter, Shut, and Listen.
