May 29-July 31 - Campus offices will be closed on Fridays. Some Friday classes will be held.
June 1 - Three, six, and nine-week sessions begin
June 10 - Study Abroad in London application deadline
June 22 - Second three and six-week sessions begin
July 3-4 - Independence Day holiday - campus closed
July 13 - Third three-week session begins

Deadline for completion of liberal arts A.A. degree
|
Students completing A.A. degree requirements with the major
of liberal arts, a program which was
deleted from the DVC catalog in 2004, are
advised that they must satisfy all requirements by the close of summer 2009,
due to State regulations. Students unable to do so will have to select
another major to complete their degree, and may see a counselor for assistance. |

Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) deadlines are fast approaching. - June 1, 2009 for UC transfer students
- Deadlines vary by campus for CSU transfer students
- Be sure to register for Orientation right away since dates fill up quickly!

New smoking policy
|
Effective August 1, 2009, the DVC campus will be
smoke-free. Smoking will only be permitted in the parking lots.

Study Abroad opportunities
|
It's not too late to study in London fall 2009. There is still time to apply for the London Study Abroad
Program for fall 2009 until June 10.

Educational Talent Search Program |
Volunteer tutors needed for fall 2009
The Educational Talent Search Program at DVC seeks tutoring volunteers for low income local
middle and high school students. Tutors are needed in a variety of
subjects.
All tutoring is held on the DVC campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-5:30 p.m., and Wednesdays, 3:30-5 p.m. Interested students should
contact Jackie Castellano at jjonesca@dvc.edu.

Business Division invites you to attend its workshop, "Putting Eight Simple Secrets to
Work in Your Business," on Thursday, June 19, 2009, from 7:30-9:30 a.m. This workshop is the final session in the spring Business Boosters

spring cleaning. We can help recycle
old, unwanted electronic equipment at a FREE e-waste recycling event happening

Campus Alert System
|
Your attention please...
A loud siren will be heard throughout the DVC campuses on Wednesday, June
3rd at 11 a.m.
This will be a test of our recently installed Campus Alert System. The
new system will be tested on the first Wednesday of every month at 11 a.m. and
the test sound will last 30 seconds.
There is nothing you need to do during a siren test.
In the event of an actual emergency or crisis situation, the siren sound will
continue for three minutes. Students and all campus personnel will be instructed
to Shelter, Shut, and Listen.
