To improve schedule and route information for customers, HART is now publically sharing data from its General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS). This gives third-party software developers the data they need to build transit-related web and phone applications.
Transit agencies throughout the country practice this open-source philosophy and a variety of useful transit tools have been created for riders.
HART riders currently have access to the RouteShout application, but will soon have more options to choose from as more applications using HART data are developed.
Software developers can find the GTFS data at www.goHART.org/developers
