PENDULUM NEW MUSIC SERIES FEATURES NEW ENGLAND CONSERVATORY PIANIST
The second concert of the Pendulum New Music Series features CU-Boulder faculty and guests, and premieres by CU-Boulder student composers and performers. CU-Boulder harp instructor, Janet Harriman, will join several CU-Boulder students in the world premiere of Andrew Buckner's Gliese 777. CU-Boulder Piano Department co-presents Bruce Brubaker, New England Conservatory's piano chair, in solo works by Nico Muhly and Missy Massoli. The program also includes premieres of works by Cole Ingraham, and Steve Sachse with the Tesla Quartet, CU-Boulder's Graduate Quartet in Residence, and pianist Adam Jackson.

About Pendulum New Music
The Pendulum New Music concert series, now in its 11th season, presents the best of new music with CU faculty and students, and world-class guest artists that have included Ursula Oppens, Bang on a Can All Stars, California Ear Unit and eighth blackbird. Monthly concerts take place on Wednesdays in Grusin Music Hall, Imig Music Building, CU campus
in Boulder, with special events in the ATLAS Black Box Theatre and other venues. Directed by pianist Hsing-ay Hsu, Pendulum promotes the appreciation of new music and equips students with the necessary skills and resources for successful collaborations and commissions. Pendulum takes its name from the Colorado Centennial Foucault Pedulum at CU's Duane Physical Laboratory. The pendulum iconifies the series' spectrum of diverse aesthetics in the music of our time.
