LetterLetter From the President

Brian Sittley, President, PSSI
Brian Sittley
It's summer with a vengeance out there... hope you're keeping your cool.

One area that's been hot for us has been EDI.  Many of customers have requirements to use EDI and those that do find that, when fully and properly automated, they can increase order volume and processing dramatically.

We've designed some highly automated EDI functionality for some of our automotive clients that includes specific EDI maps for many of the big names, including Ford, GM, Chrysler, Cummins and many others.  In fact, our Total Automotive Solution provides full-featured EDI functionality based on a powerful Microsoft Dynamics ERP foundation.

If you're doing business with automotive partners, or just have a general need for EDI, let us know.  We know the ground, and as always, we're here to help!

Regards,
Brian Sittley Sig

Business News
You Can Use...

August, 2011
Good afternoon ,

Over the past few days, we have been calling companies that supply products and material to the automotive industry. One point that has been evident is that, other than the people in companies who are actively involved with EDI, there isn't a clear understanding of EDI. In fact, many people aren't at all familiar with the concept. Although the technology is fairly old (created in the late 60s), and actually required by some companies, the benefits of its use aren't fully understood. In our lead-off article, and the accompanying white paper, we provide a very brief overview of EDI.

Check it out; if you have questions, or want additional information, give us a call at 574-239-2444.

Stay cool and have a great summer - for what remains of it.

What is EDI?
The EDI Cycle

Electronic Data Interchange

EDI is short for "Electronic Data Interchange" a technological concept first developed in the 1960s.

EDI is a set of standards that creates common sets of formats to allow information to be exchanged electronically between organizations. Companies can communicate electronically with any other...because their computers essentially speak the same language.

Many businesses routinely use EDI every day. EDI makes doing business a more automated and efficient process.

Today, every business faces constant pressures to improve the quality of its products and service, while tightly controlling or reducing costs. in many businesses the external process of exchanging information with customers and suppliers still lags far behind the internal procedures. The need for speed and accuracy in these external processes is becoming ever more critical.

Still asking yourself, "What is EDI?" Read the What Is EDI white paper, or call us.
ALERE Manufacturing Version 9.5 Released
TIW Logo TIW Ships ALERE Manufacturing V9.5

Foremost among the new features available in v9.5 of ALERE Manufacturing (Formerly named TIW Workshop) is the integration of ALERE Data Acquisition. When installed internally to ALERE Manufacturing, this new product provides the operator with a streamlined system for issuing material to work orders. Accuracy is assured as all scanning information is validated in real time.

Following is a short list of just a few of the many other new enhancements found in ALERE Manufacturing v9.5.

Schedule conflicts are avoided since activities are monitored in real time to ensure that all applicable constraints are met before schedule changes are saved.
