After an amazing experience in Italy and France this June and an unexpected win in the international section of the Festival Degli Autori singer-songwriter competition which resulted in a recording deal from Sanremo Productions, I have been busily preparing for projects and travel that will begin in September and continue indefinitely!

I was so honored to be chosen the winner of the competition for my song "And Just" (the version produced by renowned Italian producer Euro Ferrari) when I was among such wonderful talent from several different countries. I am looking forward to completing an album, as per my record deal, with Euro Ferrari, in February 2011. I already had the chance to record with Ferrari in June at his studio outside of Rome and look forward to a repeat performance.

I also was fortunate to meet my French booking agent, Agnes Dautraix, for the first time, and perform two shows in France with artist Norfolk. Plans are already in progress for a three-week tour in late February-mid March in France which will include opening slots for famous artists, and some headlining shows as well. It seems many doors are opening up in Europe with possibilities for touring in Italy, France and Spain, and album distribution in Europe as well. For the next two months I look forward to some great shows stateside, before I head to Japan for a three month engagement.

One of the highlights of this summer was headlining at Fire in the Sky in the MU football stadium for a big crowd of Independence Day revelers, and I'm really excited about August 5th's Chicago Show at Uncommon Ground. I appreciate more and more the chance to stay busy and productive and do what I love!

Hilary's winning song from the Festival Degli Autori, entitled "And Just" will appear on the festival's compilation CD to be released in October of this year and distributed in Italy. Hilary also co-wrote and recorded "Bring Back My Smile" with Italian songwriter Maurizio Opinato, and the duet will appear on the compilation as well. Scott will also receive writing credit for her composition of the English verses on the Festival's theme song, and appears as a vocal performer on two of the other disc's featured songs.

Scott's international booking agent, Agnes Dautraix of Miss Lucy and Co., is working on both a February tour of theaters in France in which Hilary could be an opening act for famous artists such as Cock Robin and Murray Head, and also a summer tour of European music festivals in which Hilary may have the chance to open for Kate Taylor, and would headline several shows as well.

While in France in June, Hilary performed at clubs The Rat Pack and La Bamboche with French artist Norfolk in Clermont-Ferrand and Vichy, respectively. Norfolk and Scott also appeared on the popular internet/TV show "The Sex Room Sessions" which features artists performing live. Broadcast date of the performance TBA in a future newsletter.

Hilary is working with Alberto Boi of Italy to secure album distribution in Europe for the albums she has already produced in the US under the Belltown Records label. Her eighth album, Indigo, is currently distributed in Taiwan by Chi Lin Music.

Hilary Scott departs for Japan in late September for a three month extended engagement at the Grand Hyatt's Bar Fizz in Fukuoka, Japan. During her contract, Hilary will also perform several concerts outside of the property and will not only perform piano/vocal, but guitar/vocal as well.

TOMORROW - Wednesday, July 21st, Hilary Scott will appear with guest musicians at Fred's Six Foot Under at the Iron Barley in St. Louis from 10:00pm - midnight. Featured on The Food Network, Iron Barley boasts famous food and unique atmosphere.

Thursday, July 29th, Music Under the Stars Festival in Mark Twain's hometown, Hannibal, Missouri. Hilary Scott Band performs from 7-9pm, at Hill and Main. These performances occur weekly and highlight regional talent. Show will happen rain or shine! Should it rain, location will be announced the evening of the show.

Thursday, August 5th, Uncommon Ground Clark Street Wrigleyville location, Chicago, Illinois. Hilary and the band had a wonderful reception at their May show here, and have been asked back. Popular Chicago-based duo The Twigs will open at 8pm, followed by Hilary Scott Band's performance at 9pm.

Saturday, August 7th, Charleville Winery, Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. Hilary Scott and AJ Gennaro will perform from 2-5pm at this fabulous vineyard and micro-brewery. Come on out and enjoy the summer and their famous Charle-ritas!
