| Hilary Scott |
Once a new year starts, it seems to get rolling more
quickly than I can keep up with. I've already got gigs
lined up until the end of July, which is incredibly
gratifying, and I'm working on a couple of tours through
the year. I'm also really happy to have the opportunity
to help out the victims of the tragedy in Haiti,
performing at a benefit at the Blue Note in Columbia
for the cause.
I'm also excited that in a week I will have the chance to
jump back into the studio - even if just to record a few
new tunes so that I can use the recordings for venue
submissions. The studio is one of my favorite places
to be, and many people at shows have been asking
for recordings of new songs. You may still have to wait
a while to purchase actual album copies of the new
tunes, but once the demos are recorded I bet we could
be persuaded to post them on the fan site or My
Space! June is approaching quickly, and I'll be
heading back to Italy for the finals in the Festival Degli
Autori international songwriting/performance
competition. I think 2010 will prove to be a great year! |

Hilary recently shared the stage with heavy-hitting
blues and traditional dobro players at Iron Barley in
Saint Louis for the Fourth Annual Tom Hall Guitar
Benefit. Hilary was joined on stage by AJ Gennaro on
percussion and Rob Lampe on dobro. Hilary will have
her own show at the Iron Barley on Saturday, February
27th.
Hilary will appear on Fred Friction's radio show on St.
Louis' KDHX 88.1 FM St. Louis for a live performance
and interview on Thursday, February 25th, sometime
between 10am and noon. Fred Friction, who has the venue "Fred's Six Foot Under" in Iron Barley, said this about Hilary: "...a newly discovered talent with the chops to compete alongside Patty Griffin or Lucinda Williams."<br>
On Thursday, February 11th, Hilary Scott and several
members of the Hilary Scott Band will perform at the
Blue Note Benefit for Haiti concert. Hilary will share the
bill with Noah Earle, the Paperclips, Casey Reeves
and other great local acts. The show is $10 and all
proceeds go to the cause.
In June, Hilary will head to Rome, Italy to finish
recording vocals on her song And Just which is
currently being produced by legendary Italian producer
Euro Ferrari. She will at that time also record the
song, Bring Back My Smile which is a
collaborative
effort with Italian songwriter Maurizio Opinato. Further,
Hilary hopes to record two songs for Giuseppe
D'Alessio's upcoming bass/vocal album. Hilary toured
Italy for three months in 2007 with the D'Alessio trio
and is excited at the prospect of appearing on their
album. On June 19th, 20th and 21st, Hilary will attend
the finals of the Festival Degli Autori international
songwriting/performance competition at the Casino di
Sanremo. At that time she will perform in front of
industry professionals including label reps,
producers, and fellow musicians, from Europe and
beyond. |

As spring approaches, Hilary starts thinking about
WINE! Booking has begun at several Missouri
wineries, and the full list of where and when Hilary will
be performing will be posted on her website as soon
as all details are available.
In March, Hilary heads back to the northwest and will
perform on Friday, March 19th at the Water Wheel in
Seattle, and will be joined on bass by Will Lanni of
Stay Tuned. Driving her vehicle back down through the
mountains, Hilary hopes to stop and play shows in the
Colorado area on her way to Missouri, as well.
Several small tours are in the process of being
planned, hopefully taking Hilary to the south, northern
midwest, and southwest before the year is through.
Hilary is also submitting to the Canada House
Concerts Series, which would provide her with the
opportunity to travel for two weeks through Canada
performing intimate shows in people's homes on a
well-planned and popular route for true music fans,
and which has been frequented by many well-known
musical acts. In July, The Hilary Scott Band will perform at the Hannibal festival Music Under the Stars, in Mark Twain's home town. This Thursday, February 11th, Hilary Scott, Rob Lampe, and Bill Adams will perform at the Blue Note in Columbia as part of a benefit concert for Haiti. Taking the stage from 9:35-10:20pm, they share the bill with Noah Earle, Casey Reeves, and other great local acts. $10/door, all proceeds to the cause.
