FALLING FAST
Hilary Scott   Hello from Hilary Scott Coopers Landing
With fall fast approaching and winter nipping at its heels, it's hard to believe how quickly the year has flown. Looking back, this has been an important year for my music, and many fabulous events are still to come. Highlights of this year have been the Festival at Sandpoint opening for Tanya Tucker, playing some fabulous local shows for what proves time and again to be a fabulous fan base, being part of the Bob Dylan Million Dollar Bash tribute album, seeing Columbia grow as a music center with the arrival of Lizzie West and the White Buffalo, the coming- quickly release of our much-anticipated CD (even by us!) Road to Hope, and many others.

Fans have taken a front-and-center role in the music this year as we offered the Roadie promotional package and fans, friends, and even local businesses stepped forward to support the album and celebrate this important milestone with us. For the new fans we met in the northwest at the festival this August, we offered up the Road to Hope Road Sign Photo Contest and were pleased and impressed with the response. The runners-up are posted on the website, along with their work, and the winning photo will be revealed when the CD is released - as the prize for winning photo was a very special spot in the CD artwork. I can't wait for it to be revealed!

Road to Hope is more than just a collection of songs - it is representative of, truly, the journey that I have taken, and the journey that the band has taken together. The Hilary Scott Band seems to be perched on the lip of big changes - and this album is going to serve as an amazing tribute to the group that has been together for nearly 6 years. I hope you all will come along a few steps down the road with us.

Industry News
  To Idaho
On September 18th, Hilary officially completed the original 5-song agreement with Matthew Wilder and Wilderness Productions in Nashville. The project went very well and the possibility of more collaboration with Wilder, and some of the other songwriters Hilary worked with on the project, is on the horizon. The five songs encompass an interesting mix of alternative, techno, and pop-rock, and are garnering interest from various sources. More details as they come.

The Hilary Scott Band is closing in on completion of Road to Hope which is set for release on November 11th at the Martini Bar in Columbia, MO. Hilary is currently finishing up the final harmony vocals with Steve Gardner at The Music House, and mixing has begun. Fans who purchased a Roadie package will be celebrating the release on October 7th at the Courtyard Beer and Wine Garden, and the Road To Hope November 11th CD Release will be held at the Martini Bar in Columbia, at 9:00pm.

The Hilary Scott Band is set for a busy fall and winter with upcoming appearances in Illinois, Kansas and the central Missouri area. Check out the website for detailed show information.

Hilary is set to join the My Space revolution! Many of you have asked, and the call has been answered! Hilary's personal page and band page are under construction, and soon you will be able to purchase CDs and download songs from the site. As always www.hilaryscott.c om and www.c dbaby.com offer CDs for sale and songs can also be purchased as downloads from popular sites such as iTunes and Rhapsody.

In August, the Hilary Scott Band performed at the Million Dollar Bash to release the CD of the same name, a tribute to Bob Dylan featuring many local and regional artists covering his songs. Hilary covered To Make You Feel My Love, and her version of this song will also be included as a special addition to the upcoming Road to Hope release.

To purchase copies of the 2-CD set, visit www.h ometoneproductions.com.

Someone out there loves us! :) Just Plain Folks, an organization that recognizes and supports folk music, has a yearly awards ceremony for independent artists (as well as a category for those signed to major or independent labels) in California. Hilary's song My Friend was nominated (by whom? we don't know!) for the Best Original Song award this year. She has been nominated in years past, as well. Visit Just Plain Folks website for more information on the awards, and the organization in general.

Recently, Womenfolk Volume 1 was released, including Hilary Scott's Brave New World among 12 other fabulous tracks by women artists around the nation.

Visit www.womenfolk .net for more details.

One final note: For those fans planning to attend the November 4th gig at the Uncommon Ground in Chicago, reservations are recommended by the venue.
