Blessings Flow through Dominican Bazaar
Saying that last Saturday was a long day may be a bit of an understatement; so too in saying it was well worth it.
From 7 am to 8pm (13 hours) the church hosted a Bazaar to raise money for the missions trip. It was a heart-warming sight to see the number of members who came out and donated part or all of their day in order to help send some of our people to Peru.
The church offered pedicures, facials, haircuts, car washes, a HUGE flea market of items donated, and plenty of food. In all, more than $1,000 was raised in the one day event. What a joy to see Dominicans investing in Dominicans.

Former Interns Give Back
An unexpected blessing for the Peru missions trip has been the investment that former, summer interns have made toward this trip. To date, eight former interns have given or raised more than $1,500 for the trip. It is an awesome thought that interns who once themselves were supported to come to the Dominican are now reinvesting in the lives of the same Dominicans that they ministered to, and alongside of, in order for them to have their world vision enlarged in Peru. We thank these former interns for such a great testimony of what real ministry is all about - people investing in people in order to help them take the next step in their spiritual walk!

Church Video on YouTube
Ok, so it's been a while since Spanish 101, but don't let that stop you from viewing the church's promotional video for the Peru missions trip. Hosted on YouTube, you'll be able to see fruit of the church's ministry. You may not understand a word that is said, but you can rejoice in how God is using Dominicans to touch the world. Check the link out and pass it around and remember to pray for our people and for Arequipa.

Dominicans to Peru is Significant Step
At IBEM, we just dare to believe that the Great Commission is for Dominicans too. Please, don't tell our people any different - they don't know they "can't do it!" As the church supports three missions projects and prepares to start supporting a fourth, it was time for the church's first group missions trip. God has richly blessed as our people have taken great steps of faith in order to go on a trip that will cost nearly $1,200 per person. We rejoice that the church's own missions account will be able to contribute more than $1,000 toward the trip, the bazaar raised an additional $1,000, and the trip participants have been sacrificing and saving their money and involving family and friends in supporting them. Also, the Lord has allowed IBEM opportunities to share in other Dominican churches the need for Dominicans to be more significantly involved in missions.
The nine people that are going on the trip are some of IBEM's finest. They have been discipled and are actively involved in bringing people to Christ, discipling, and serving the Lord through the local church. We couldn't be any prouder of this group and we pray that while we minister in Peru, our hearts are broken and our vision enlarged for the part that Dominicans can have in God's harvest field.
While in Arequipa, Peru, the group will be working with missionary Daniel Araujo, whom the church supports and missionary Aaron Karr. Both of these men have graciously allowed us to come in and join their exciting works for 10 days. During our stay, we will be involved in teaching in a seminary, conducting a VBS, conducting a youth campaign, preaching and singing in several churches, distributing literature for a new church plant, and visiting Araujo's mountain works. While we are seeking to be a blessing and encouragement to these churches, we also realize that our hearts will be greatly touched and challenged as our people fellowship with our Peruvian brothers and sisters and see the dire need of the gospel in Arequipa.
