What an exciting time we are in as we witness the Lord continue to work through our local church and the DR Vision.  We've put down the trowel so you could pickup a cup of coffee and read about the great things the Lord is doing.

The daunting task of enclosing 46 acres of land with a concrete wall has begun, thanks in large part to Berean Baptist Church in North Carolina and Dave and Florence Ratliffe of Tri-County Baptist, in Ohio. We are thrilled to report as a result of two weeks of work, the footer has been completely poured on one line and a couple rows of blocks have been laid on part of that line. Please continue to pray for the funds to come in for the wall and workers to come and work on the wall. If you or your church might be interested in coming to work on the wall, please write the team.

Nehemiah Project
Join us in making the Nehemiah Project a reality.  We are close to paying off the 46 acres that will be used for the development of the DR Vision.  The building of the initial parimeter is already underway, but before anything significant can be built, the debt must be paid on the property.
We ask that you prayerfully consider joining us in retiring the debt by giving $100 toward the DR property fund.  All we need is 800 people to give $100.

The Power of the Cross Presented in Drama

Easter 07  Fifty-seven safety pins, six yards of burlap, 20 yards of newsprint, 34 yards of fabric, 18 scrap pieces of fabric, three pounds of rope, 14 bobby pins, one rice sack, two pieces of wood and some paint, and a broken broomstick. That is what is takes to build a set and make costumes for a 14-member choir plus a few extras for miracles and a bystander. This was our Easter drama, "The Power of the Cross," under the direction of Bethany Melrose.

Songs like "Arise, my Love," "One Holy Lamb," and "In the Name of the Lord" were a few of the songs that were mixed with some dramatic monologues to create a program celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. The church was filled to capacity with members and guests. What an awesome thought that 10 members of the drama came to know our Risen Lord under the ministry of the church and orphanage here in San Pedro! To God be the glory for what He is doing through the local church!

We would like to thank a small group from Chesapeake, Va. that helped us paint the scenery and a group of high schoolers from Colonial Hills Christian School for the paper-mache rocks. The backdrop and props helped carry us to Jerusalem!
Purity Conference Offers Answers to Community
guys in group workIn March, the church held its first purity conference. The theme was "Guard your Heart" and the message was clear: God has a plan for our minds and our bodies. Cedarville University sent a great group of social work students under the direction of Jeffrey and Christine Fullmer to help organize and direct this important conference.

The conference lasted three nights and was organized and set up where teens sat at a table with their peers and one adult from the church. At different times there was discussion and journaling done at each table. The teens were challenged to "draw a line" and not settle for anything less than God's best.  The adult church members were able to improve their communication with the younger generation as well as gain ideas about confronting this type of topic.

This conference was a tremendous blessing to both our church and the community as it creatively and intelligently countered the culture head-on and gave God's perspective and plan for relationships. Songs, skits, group work, researched presentations and God's Word lovingly, but firmly presented, lead to several commitments of our people to remain pure.

The DR Vision is bigger than any one person, our team, or even the church. By faithfully praying on our behalf, you are joining in a significant vision that brings all the glory back to God. It is a great  joy to join ourselves with you in something so significant that will last for eternity. Our team thanks you. To learn more of how you may get involved, please write us.
