Herbs...Nature's Intelligent Ambassadors of Consciousness! Greetings! Herbs are nature's powerhouses. The coherence and energy of herbs make them the wise and compassionate sages of Nature. When we partake of herbs, their intelligence resonates within us like a tuning fork and we come into vibration and balance. Certainly we know that herbs are used for treating disease and for rejuvenation, however, beyond these correcting and strengthening qualities, herbs awaken our higher consciousness. They stimulate our vital energies (prana) and our higher mind.
According to Vedic knowledge, the sap of an herb contains a life essence called "soma". Soma is all that nourishes and sustains and offers comfort and enjoyment in the cosmos at all levels. The amount and quality of soma depends on the conditions in which the herb grew and was harvested. For instance plants grown in the mountains and near streams and lakes are purported to have more soma. And of course, organically grown is best.
The soma or life-essence of an herb combines with ojas (essential life energy or vigor) to boost a higher level of activity. When we produce ojas, the vital nectar of life, we feel blissful. A good diet and lifestyle supports the creation of ojas within and herbs stimulate and expand that process. The effect of herbs manifests over time. They are not drugs; we need to have an overall right diet and lifestyle to support the intelligent work of herbs. Herbs operate on a more subtle level than food and can stimulate the flow of prana through the energy channels and nadis.
We can benefit greatly from the daily use of herbs. They catalyze processes within that clear ama (toxins), strengthen muscles and organs, deeply nourish us, stimulate prana, and awaken our potential for bliss. Plant the seeds that nourish you.
Live with radiant intention and be well, Rhonda |

All Life Forms Exist to Nourish All Others and to Be Nourished.
Each form of life receives and transmits life energy. Plants bring us the nourishing power of the sun which is the same energy in all of the stars...all light. They offer nutritive value and also the energy of light. Plants transmute light into life and humans transmute light into consciousness or love through our perception. Plants invite us to commune with the outer sun and our wakefulness (through meditation and other means) brings us to commune with our inner sun...our true Self . In the balance of the inner and outer radiance is nourished bliss.
With proper reverence for the plant world, the true power and intelligence can be released. This means that honoring the sacredness of herbs and seeds and all plants brings us into communion with Nature. The life force is not received simply by ingesting the plant, but rather its full force is received by being in total communion with it.
What better way to begin the participation of this relationship than to plant your own herbs.

Kapha Tea
We are in Kapha season--March to June. Here is a tasty tea to support Kapha balancing for detoxing, releasing mucus, and weight loss.
Each measurement is a "part". Depending on how much you want to make, 1 part could be a teaspoon or a cup.
1 Ginger
1 Cardamom
1/4 cloves (the spice not garlic)
1/8 turmeric
1/8 pepper
1/16 saffron
All dry powders. Mix and take as 1/2 tsp per 1 C boiled water. Can add a bit of honey--which also pacifies Kapha.
