Marching Band / ColorGuard Update
|
If you haven't yet seen this year's program, "The Sky's the Limit", you're missing out on seeing a fantastic show. CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. Weinberg, his staff, and the members of the 2011 ANHS Marching Band and ColorGuard for the terrific progress they've made this season. While we post video of the band's performance on our website, the **BEST** way to see the program is in-person. Come support our students at a competition or home football game.

Soup Night
Join us every Monday night during Marching Band season to watch and cheer our students as they rehearse, enjoy a cup of gourmet soup, and help support our Alumni Scholarship Fund. This year Chef Bill Spivey is taking us on a journey of America's highways with hand-crafted soups from around the country. Come join us!

LAST CALL - Taste of Aliso Niguel

The Taste of Aliso Niguel is a great event - featuring great food from over 15 restaurants, *LIVE* jazz by Tony Guerrero, and a Silent Auction featuring some incredible items. The best/most important feature is that $25 of each $35 ticket goes directly back to our music programs ... but ONLY if you designate "BAND" when you register your tickets.
YOU MUST BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW! - as online ticket sales were scheduled to be closed on Oct 2nd. (We have inside info that you can still order them - but only if you act NOW!)
THANK YOU to everyone that has donated or secured items for our Silent Auction. We'll have over 30 items to bid on - so be sure to visit our table at the Taste event. Don't forget your checkbook!!

 | Volunteers Needed | |
Volunteers are especially needed for:
- Taste of Aliso Niguel - Adult volunteers are needed to help manage our students that will be doing the setup and tear-down of the tables and chairs for Taste of Aliso Niguel. 8 adults for each of the sessions (setup / tear-down) are needed. Look under "Fundraising" on the Volunteer Registration page.
- Marching Band Competition - We are going to need *ALL PARENTS* in the program to assist with the Marching Band competition we will be hosting on Saturday, October 29th. There are many jobs that need filling - taking tickets, hospitality, gate and stadium control, food services, etc. ... in two shifts. This is a MAJOR fundraiser for our program and we need everyone's support for it to be successful. We have a separate section on our Volunteer Registration page for these tasks.
- Advertising Sales - We have a number of advertising opportunities available for local merchants and businesses in our programs and on our website (as well as this newsletter). Please help us get our message to the greater community and support our programs.

 | Marching Band Competition | |
Reserve Saturday, October 29th in your calendars ... because we're going to need everyone's help with our first MBOS Marching Band Competition at Aliso Niguel HS. We are going to need volunteers to help with *all* aspects of the show - from selling and collecting tickets, preparing and selling food, managing traffic and buses, directing bands to/from rehearsal areas, and everything that goes along with staffing a marching band competition. It will be a full day of hard work - but we're counting on this event being successful, to help generate funds for our programs.

 | Cow Chip Bingo |
Ticket sales for Cow Chip Bingo are underway. We have 3,000 tickets to sell - so everyone's assistance is needed to ensure this fundraiser is a huge success.
The event will take place just after the Laguna Hills Holiday Parade on December 10th, at the "Upper Soccer Field" of the YMCA/Laguna Niguel Community Center on Crown Valley. Tickets are $5 each - with prizes of $250, $500, and $1000 to the winners. Students are also eligible to win prizes for having sold the winning tickets, as well as for selling the most tickets.

 | Spirit Wear Available Online | |
NOW AVAILABLE - Member Jackets!! Spirit Wear items are available for order in our Online Store - including embroidered caps, polo shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and an all-weather 'team jacket'. Each item is made-to-order, so we don't carry items in inventory for sale. Normal delivery time is 3 weeks from receipt of order.
Order now so you can show your Aliso spirit as our students participate in upcoming competitions.
All profits from the sale of items on the Online Store directly benefit our programs.

 | Help Keep Us Hydrated | |
We can always use donations of bottled water to help keep our students hydrated at their performances. With 110+ students in this year's program - it takes a lot of water to make sure everyone has something to drink.
Please consider donating a case or two of bottled water the next time you visit your grocery or Costco. If you have questions or if you have water you'd like to donate, please contact Marvin Swan for more information.

 | New Online Volunteer Registry | |
Volunteers are the life-blood of our organization and without an active group of people to support our various programs and fund raising efforts, things just don't get done. We have created a new Volunteer section on our website, which provides information about the roles and tasks associated with our Volunteer Committees.
Our Volunteer Registration form automatically saves your volunteer profile and event/task selections - making it very easy to return to the site to review and update your profile information and selections. All information is stored in our database and readily available for committee chairpersons.
