E-News & Notes

                                          November  2011

Greetings!

WHAT'S NEW AT CMN!

Wešve Redone Our Website!
CMN is updating and redesigning our web page to make it more user friendly and  welcoming to potential new members.  Please click here to have a look!   Some aspects of the site are still in the works, and wešre open to your ideas.  Please send them to office@cmnonline.org.

New Business Membership opportunities

The membership committee has developed several new categories and levels of membership in order to attract more business to CMN.  Please have a look and help us with our efforts by visiting the membership page on the new webite   and sharing information about CMN with anyone whom you think might be interested. Or recommend potential business members to our board, and we'll contact them for you!

FALL FUNDRAISER
We're thrilled about the opportunity we have this year to add up to $3000 to your generous donations through a matching grant by a very kind and special CMN supporter! You should have received a letter in the mail from us last week explaining how it works.  We'll follow up shortly with an email to let you know how much of your individual donation will be matched. You can contact Jane Arsham anytime at office@cmnonline.org if you have any questions.   You can make your donations online at http://cmnonline.org/Donate.aspx.  No need to make any special designation.

You can also send your check directly to our mailing address, PO Box 22, 10 Court St,  Arlington, MA. 02476. Please make sure you have changed the CMN address in your contacts as the PO in Illinois will soon stop forwarding! Also note, you need both the PO Box and street address for our current address as there is more than one post office in Arlington, MA.  Thanks!

If you want to pay by credit card and not through PayPal, contact Jane at office@cmnonline.org.

Your generosity keeps us together!

THANK YOU'S AND VOLUNTEER HERE!
CMN is a volunteer organization.  Without efforts from so many of our members we would not exist.  Starting this month, we'd like to take some space both to recognize people who are working behind the scenes to ensure that CMN continues to thrive in the years ahead, and to let you know about volunteer opportunities that you might be interested in.

Special Thanks!
To
Liz Hannan, who personally welcomes every new member into our fold with a phone call and a listening ear!

To Jackson Gillman for his fundraising concerts on the Cape in September and to  Steve Blunt, Sammie Haynes, Diana Kane, Matt Loosgian & Tina Stone who performed as part of a CMN Fundraiser with the Seacoast Museum of NH.  Their efforts raised $500 for CMN!

To Diane Lansing for taking over 500 gorgeous photos at our conference in Hyannis this year!

Volunteer Opportunities!
Want to host a song swap? Willing to be a regional contact person?

We'd like to find people around the country who are open to hosting song swaps and small gatherings to keep our regions a vital part of our connected community.  Once a year is not nearly enough for us to gather together. Anyone can do this and we can help you let the members in your area know.

In addition, we have  a number of areas with no regional coordinator actively engaged (New York Metro, Rocky Mountains, and most of the southern US). Rather than taking on the task of regional coordinator, if you are open to being simply a contact person in your area, please let Jane Arsham, (office@cmnonline.org) know and we'll make it happen.

Interested in helping keep our new website looking fresh?

Thanks to Diane Lansing, we have a trove of pictures and are looking for someone who would be interested in going through them and selecting 50-100 that we can rotate through our website to keep it looking fresh.  This is can be done over time and promises to be a fun job.  The photos are online and easily accessible.  If you are interested contact Jane Arsham (office@cmnonline.org) and she will go through the process with you.

THANK YOU for helping out!

DON'T FORGET!
Hope you enjoyed learning more about our members last month.  December will be our second Member News column and we welcome your submission! Please send your news by November 25th for inclusion.

Live Auction Happening
The Guitars in the Classroom holiday auction has just begun.  They are partnering with a small non-profit, Kids for Peace, to help them make some money for their mission.

We encourage you to visit the auction site and see what is available both  because it's a great cause, and because CMN hopes to sponsor an auction in the future with Guitars in the Classroom. This will give you a sense of the possibilities and you also might find some nice gifts for the holidays!
