More than 800 Expected for "Picnic at the Park"

The annual event, September 22nd from 2 - 6pm, is designed for area employees and neighbors but open to everyone who buys a ticket in advance. Admission has been held to $10 with children 12 and under free with each paying adult. In addition, special 2-for-1 discounts are being offered to Sac. State students and member Neighborhood Associations.

 

In addition to The Food Truck Fantasy, guests will find carnival games and inflatable midway rides, magic shows, jugglers, the rock band The New Originals, balloon artists and face painters. "This is definitely a kid's treat," said event manager Jamie Szutowicz, "The adults will also be entertained with competitive events such as closest-to-the-pin. There's also a wine and beer garden (wine and beer tastings), raffle for some great prizes and a vendor showcase."

 

"Picnic at the Park" is held in Depot Business Park, site of the former Army Signal Depot, on Fruitridge Blvd. near Power Inn Road. Tickets must be purchased in advance on the Alliance web site, http://www.powerinn.org. There will be no ticket sales at the gate. Families may also bring their own picnic baskets if they choose (but no alcohol or beverages from the outside).(read more)
