The Alliance-led campaign to Save 14th Ave. extension to Florin-Perkins Rd. from the Redevelopment chopping block is battling on many fronts. Here's the play-by-play to date:

 

The Oversight Board, comprised of seven Sacramento City and County appointees, approved the ROPS (Redevelopment Obligated Payment Schedule, which includes $3.8 million dedicated to 14th Ave.) on April 30 and submitted to the State Dept of Finance on May 1. DOF has three days to object and then 10 days to detail the problems back to the Successor Agency (the city), setting the final date for objections on May 14. (Read more....)

Honda Owners Beware 

The Sacramento Police Department is warning owners of Honda Civics and Accords ofHonda an increase in vehicle thefts. "We have seen a significant increase in the theft of Honda Civics and Accords, specifically 1991-1997 models," said Lieutenant Marc Coopwood of Central Command who oversees the Power Inn corridor. "Many of these vehicles are stripped for their parts and leave owners with costly repair bills," he said. (Read more....)

May is Bike MonthMay is Bike Month and the Energizer Stations are back!  Join Dawn and Crew at the Guy West Bridge on Thursdays through May from 3:45 - 5:45pm.  

 

The Alliance Transportation Team will be at Granite Park on Wednesday, May 9th and 16th from 11am - 1pm.  Come by and spin the prize wheel and get MiBM swag.  Share your biking stories and get information while supporting your local businesses.  The fun takes place behind 3341 Power Inn Rd. - near the Drewski's or Willi's Foodtruck.  (Lunch isn't free but the Bike Month stuff is!)
