The 'Youth Going Green' project (Capital Area's demonstration 'green' training-to-employment program for youth ages 17-21) continues to make tremendous strides in educating and preparing youth for careers in the sustainable energy field. Twenty three out of twenty seven youth participants have obtained their GED since September 2011, and seventeen participants graduated from the 'Weatherization for Youth' course at NCSU.

On January 12-13, ten of the most outstanding youth participants were selected to attend a trip to Washington, D.C. The participants had a great educational and cultural experience and for some of them this was their first trip to the nation's capital.
