FIRST THURSDAY DISCUSSION GROUP meets the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 am in the Wilson room.  This fall the group is led by Pastor Paul Shupe.  The group will be discussing Falling Upward by Richard Rohr.  Both women and men are invited to attend.  Meeting dates are October 4, November 1 and December 6. " Rohr offers a gentle but firm reminder that although it's appropriate to start the spiritual journey by focusing on security and identity, but there comes a time when we must move beyond the protective fences and engage the world in which we live through the Spirit of God.  Rohr uses the image of life's two halves."  Contact: Lois Smith Martin smithmartin224@verizon.net, 781-270-0304.

From Paul and MaryAnn:
We would like to thank everyone at Hancock for their support and prayers during the past several weeks.  MaryAnn's brother Richard died of brain cancer yesterday, and a memorial service will be held in Wisconsin this weekend.  Your support has meant much to us, and we are grateful for your many kindnesses.

Singers and Instrumentalists are Invited to Play at the Well.

The River Rock Band, our in house ensemble for our evening worship The Well, is always on the lookout for singers and instrumentalists who would like to join us. The Band rehearse at 5:00 p.m each Sunday prior to playing for the service at 6:15. You can join us regularly or as a "special guest". For those appearing with us regularly, the singers should be able to sing harmonies by ear, and  instrumentalists need to be able to play from chord charts and pick up songs quickly. For those looking to be a guest, we can arrange to write out parts etc. We are especially interested in having a bass player join us regularly Players/singers do NOT need to be members of the church--help us spread the word to those you know elsewhere who might be interested!

For more info, contact Mark Morgan, Director of Music at 781-862-4220 ext 15 or mark@hancockchurch.org
