At Hancock we welcome and support with love and rejoicing all children!
For Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, do not hinder them; for such belongs the Kingdom of God. Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it. And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands upon them." Mark 10:14-16
Recognizing the children as important members of the congregation, children take part in worship services on a regular basis, sharing their gifts with the congregation through music, art, and storytelling. Hancock aims for children to become life-long learners of faith while making deep faith connections through active learning!
Children and youth are an important part of the Hancock community and are welcome to participate in worship. Upon arriving at Hancock, families will find bulletins, names tags & pew packs for kids in the Narthex near the historic entrance to the Sanctuary. "Greeters" are on hand to offer any assistance needed.
Each Sunday morning children begin in worship with their families. Following the Gathering of Children in the sanctuary children are invited to process to the Education Wing where they gather in the children's chapel to share joys and concerns, collect their weekly offering to Heifer International, sing, and offer prayers of thanksgiving. Children then break into smaller groups for a lesson and activity based on their grade level (K-1, 2-3, 4-5). Parents can pick-up their children after worship in classrooms.
Nursery care and toddler care is also available in the Christian Education wing with trained Childcare Providers and student helpers beginning at 9:30am. Our goal is to meet the individual needs of families while offering a safe, nurturing and caring environment for infants and young children. Live streaming of morning worship is available in the Nursery Room.

Fabulous Senior Picnic last weekend! More than 60 seniors from Hancock picnicked at Larry and Iris Larssen's home on Saturday. It was wonderful to celebrate the beginning of our new year with so many of you, including those we can't always see on Sunday mornings, and many from Brooksby Village, the Huntington, Carleton Willard, and Newbury Court. Many thanks to the Larssen's, the deacons, our moderator, the congregational care team, and church staff who made it possible.

From Hancock Staff: We are keeping Dan dos Santos, our Facilities Manager in our prayers this week, as his father passed away. Dan will not be at Hancock this week, being with his family as he is needed. If you have questions or concerns about our facilities, please direct them to our staff, either Rachel or Julina, and we'll find a way to help you.

Singers and Instrumentalists are Invited to Play at the Well.
The River Rock Band, our in house ensemble for our evening worship The Well, is always on the lookout for singers and instrumentalists who would like to join us. The Band rehearse at 5:00 p.m each Sunday prior to playing for the service at 6:15. You can join us regularly or as a "special guest". For those appearing with us regularly, the singers should be able to sing harmonies by ear, and instrumentalists need to be able to play from chord charts and pick up songs quickly. For those looking to be a guest, we can arrange to write out parts etc. We are especially interested in having a bass player join us regularly Players/singers do NOT need to be members of the church--help us spread the word to those you know elsewhere who might be interested! For more info, contact Mark Morgan, Director of Music at 781-862-4220 ext 15 or mark@hancockchurch.org
