Greetings!
Our interim housing participants have set their sights on getting out of the shelter and into a home of their own. Seven of them so far have succeeded and are in their own apartment in time for Christmas. The others are still working on that. It's up to us to make their Christmas special.
On Thursday Dec 22 we'll be having a Christmas party for them. We have three ways you can support them in their quest to end their homelessness:
+ You can come! We are inviting donors to come to the party to meet the participants and show their support. We have space for 10 donors. The party is at 10 am at the shelter. Respond to me if you'd like to reserve your place.
+ You can help us give them a few gifts. We'd suggest anything small that can be kept in a shelter - gift cards, fancy hand lotion, a pair of gloves, a scarf, a trinket box. They can't keep food by their beds and have all the basic toiletries they need. There are 12 persons in Phase 1, 3 in Phase 2, and seven alumni who are invited back to inspire the others. We may have the two other slots in Phase 1 filled by then too. That's a total of 24 participants. 8 are women, 16 are men. You could donate 24 of something or just as many as you can.

Good News! A grant from Boeing!
The Interim Housing program has received its first grant! We've been informed that we'll receive $10,000 from Boeing for operational support for the interim housing program. This is its first grant! We've funded it out of general operational support so far. Thank you to all the Boeing volunteers who have volunteered at our sites and to the grants committee!
