Join us for dinner at Maggiano's on Oak Brook and help raise funds to feed, shelter, and assist homeless men and women! Our Fall Benefit Dinner is Wednesday, Nov 9th. Congratulations to Stephanie Heavey, a Secular Franciscan, who won the poetry contest for our Fall Dinner Invitation. Here's what the painting inspired her to write:
November's pale light is fading fast. Chill winds penetrate my threadbare clothes. I'm not too sure how long I'll last; How bonetired I am, only God knows. My belly's achin' for lack of a meal My muscles are quickly losing power. Oh, what a miracle it would be To feel the warmth of a hot shower. We'll have great Maggiano's food, open bar, fun silent auction prizes (think Christmas presents!), a heartfelt talk by one of our guests, and plenty of people who care about the homeless like you do. We're also offering a free dinner ticket to anyone who tells us that they've included us in their estate plans. We need to know by Nov 1.
