Greetings!
We've begun another new year at FOA! This summer we said goodbye to the 2010-11 community and welcome  d in the new 2011-12 community in 4 short weeks! We have 11 volunteers: 7 from Germany, 3 from the U.S. (New Orleans, North Carolina and Rhode Island) and 1 volunteer from Scotland whose returning for a 2nd year in the program. To see photos and read a volunteers reflection on these events click here!The community space has undergone many updates this summer. All 3 hallways have been repainted by volunteer groups. We now hold our weekly Community Reflections and Meetings in the newly updated "Blue Hallway". And, believe it or not...the community has air conditioning! |

If you're interested in staying connected to the Full-Time Volunteer Program and FOA here are some suggestions:
If you're in the Chicago area:
- Become a part-time volunteer
- Host the community for dinner at your place
- Attend an FOA event:
- Sep 10-Pooch Walk
- Oct 6-Open House
- Nov 9-Fall Dinner
- Consider joining the new FOA Young Professionals Board! (Must be a Chicago-area resident, under 40)
If you're in the U.S.:
- Represent FOA at a College Volunteer Fair! Upcoming fairs include, but aren't limited to: Kansas, California, Tennessee, Texas, Ohio, Virginia, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Pennsylvania. More fairs will be posted soon!
Anyone, Anywhere:
- Write letters to guests
- Volunteer to write a blog reflection
- Submit suggestions for the Alumni Association
- Host a fundraiser or house party to benefit FOA
- Consider donating monthly ($10/$15/$20/month) to the Volunteer Program!
