A CRISIS AT THE HOSPITAL!
Being unable to pay our workers at the hospital is not where we'd like to be right now, but that is exactly where we are. For both April and May we have been unable to issue any salaries for our staff at the hospital. If you can, we need your help.
With roughly $12,000 in our account we need an additional $100,000 (roughly $50,000 per month) to assure that we can make up our shortage and move ahead. As you know the cholera clinic has been a Godsend to the Pignon region. It was not a financial outlay that we planned. It has drained many of our resources. While there is no end in sight for treating cholera patients, the need is beginning to level off to a more manageable number.
The board and volunteers of Promise for Haiti have plans to move into place for future funding, but unfortunately those plans take time--time we simply no longer have. The 143,000 people in this region need our help. They have nothing, and when you start at nothing, even "anything" is hard to come by. They go without so many of the simple day to day items you and I take for granted.
I've never been in a situation where I was forced to ask for help...I need yours now! Please consider a gift to help these families. Many hearts make light the work.
Where is your heart? Could you help?
As you go through your day, please keep our mission and the people of the Pignon region in your thoughts and prayers. We will keep you in ours.
Prayerfully,
Denny Brand,
Executive Director
