Dear friends,
This is the news! Happy market shoppers reporting back the Philmont Farmers' Market is achieving the most affordable market farmer-to-consumer prices!  That's sweet news to our farmers dedicated to growing affordable fresh local food!

We're also hearing back from SNAP shoppers - our coupon programs are making the difference to weekly food bills making it possible for many to shop fresh, shop healthy!  We're seeing increases every Sunday combined with increased EBT patronage.  A shout out goes to Heather Martin for managing the EBT spot so smoothly.

A "thank you" to all loyal market shoppers - your support is truly appreciated as we're entering the home run for the last six markets for the season.  14th October, our last Sunday market for the season is getting sadly too near.

Take the Locavore Challenge by shopping at the market.
Market event

This September, NOFA-NY will host its 3rd Annual NY Locavore Challenge. The NY Locavore Challenge is a first of its kind, month-long campaign aimed at engaging consumers across the state in actively supporting the local organic food movement.

The Locavore challenge starts with the theory "vote with your dollar," and takes it a few steps further, by appealing to concerned citizens to participate in a wide variety of events and challenges that support their local economies, encourage organic and sustainable growing practices and propel the movement. The aim is for 5,000 people state-wide to participate in the challenge this year. New this year, we are launching a 30 Challenges in 30 Days calendar to help guide consumers in exploring the challenge each day during September. The calendar will include daily challenges, recipes, tips, events and more. Click here to register
WHERE ARE ALL THE CO-OP OWNER-MEMBERS?
Co-op blackboard Philmont Market & Cafe Co-op

We're counting this September for owner-member patronage! The co-op needs to count high numbers coming to the farmers' market to help their business plan numbers.  We're counting on all the owner-members to help with this! Stop by for a FREE cup of coffee and talk to Elizabeth and co-op volunteers how things are growing for opening the co-op in Philmont!
