Inland Installs Second XL 105 Press
XL 105 Press Install
In the coming weeks, Inland's new Heidelberg XL 105 press will be up and running at full production. Our engineers and technicians are working hard to get the press ready to meet customer demand. The new XL is the twin of the XL 105 press that was installed in 2008, but will also have upgraded in-press controls that read color and register in real time. The new press is also fitted for future upgrades including alternative ink systems. Inland chose to add a second XL 105 because of the dramatic improvements in efficiencies from the first and having an operating team that already knows the system. As the label industry continues to grow through technological shifts and advancements, Inland has reinvested in growing the company to ensure the needs of our customers are met through continued quality and innovation.
Packaging = Brand StrengthPackaging
How do your customers spot and recognize your brand right away? How do you differentiate your brand from your competitors? When it comes to brand strength, your packaging and labeling is very important because it's the closest your brand can get to the consumer. In a recent research study done by Pira International, the visual dimension of packaging and labeling ranked the highest for brand performance. That visual recognition that draws a consumer is the starting point to their experience with the product and overall brand experience. For a consumer to have a positive experience, the added value that packaging and labeling gives, will separate your brand from its competitors. Contact your sales representative to discuss how we can help build your brand strength through packaging performance.
QR Codes - Target Your MarketQR Website QR Code
In today's competitive market, it's harder to build a loyal customer base because of the many options customers have when choosing a product. When it comes to winning customers over, innovation is the key. An innovative technology called QR coding has made its way to the marketplace, making mobile marketing a new and promising way to interact with your customer through packaging. QR (quick response) codes are gaining popularity and turning heads because the key to its success is the dependency on a device many of us always have with us, our smart phone. When your customer scans the QR code with an app or downloaded scanner on their phone, it leads them to a richer experience with your brand and product because they can learn more about your product, they can receive a coupon or discount, they can watch a video, find a recipe and more. The more interaction and information your customer can access by scanning the QR code on your label, the more of a personalized experience it becomes, which ultimately creates more value for the customer. For further information on QR codes and how it can help build your brand and customer relationship, contact your sales representative or email us for a copy of QR Codes a Guide.
Consumers Prefer GlassGlass
When it comes to picking the right foods and beverages, what comes to mind? In an independent national survey conducted by Newton Research, consumers ranked glass packaging as their first choice when it came to true taste, quality, purity, and the healthiest type of packaging. According to the US Food and Drug Administration glass is the only packaging material to be categorized as "generally recognized as safe." No material is as sustainable as glass when it comes to strength, quality, purity and positive perception. There is a growing trend in the beer market toward aluminum packaging, but the consumer demand is lagging behind. The positive perception that beer in a glass bottle conveys to the consumer will keep the beer market growth strong. At the end of the day, consumers simply prefer their beer in glass bottles.  Refrigerator Movement Header

Refrigerator

Whether it's a quick lunch or a midnight snack, where do you usually look first? A recent study has shown that when people are hungry the first place they go to is the refrigerator, then the nearby cabinet, then the pantry. Sound familiar? The mindset is that consumers will be more likely to buy a refrigerated good instead of a shelf stable one that will end up sitting in the pantry for weeks. The fridge offers a more dynamic and user friendly environment with more traffic. Need help creating a more fridge friendly package? Contact your Inland representative or email us.

QA

Q: What is the difference between IML and Blow Mold?

A: Blow mold is primarily used for enclosed bottle and jug like containers, where Injection In-Mold Labels are used for non bottle shaped containers like cups or bucket. Blow mold requires a plastic "pre-form" that is put into the mold. Hot air pushes the walls of the pre-form out to take on the shape of the mold and create the container. Injection In-Mold containers are made from molten plastic that is "shot" into a mold to create the container shape. Injection In- Mold labels are made of the same material as the container so they fuse with the molten plastic and become a part of the wall itself. Because the wall thickness of Blow Molded containers is typically thinner than Injection, a heat activated adhesive is used to help fuse the label to the wall of the container. If you have any questions or an interest in finding out more about Injection In-Mold or Blow Mold labels, contact your sales representative or visit the Injection In-Mold and Blow Mold label pages on our website.
