WARWICK PLUMBING & HEATING REACHES 1 MILLION MAN-HOURS, "0" LOST TIME DUE TO INJURIES

In June 2012, Warwick Plumbing & Heating (Newport News, VA) reached a major milestone in its employee safety program when company employees worked one million man-hours without a lost workday due to injury. This record dates back to January 2011 and includes employees in all areas of the company. The company attributes its achievement to "the commitment of all of our foremen and field employees to working safely on a daily basis." Based on information drawn from MCAA's annual Safety Statistical Survey and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Warwick has a frequency-of-injury record that is ranked in the top tier of mechanical contractors employing 250-999 people. Congratulations!

HELP MCERF SUPPORT OUR INDUSTRY'S FUTURE
The future of the mechanical construction, service and plumbing industry rests with the young men and women who are making their way through college programs that lead to a career with our industry. The Mechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation (MCERF) has recently established a new program that makes available $5,000 in scholarship funds to MCAA student chapters that are awarded Chapter of Excellence Grants. Chapter faculty advisors decide which chapter members merit a scholarship (starting at $1,000) based on academic performance, hard work and interest in a career with our industry. You can help build the funding for this exciting new MCERF initiative by designating up to 50% of your Foundation contribution to the MCERF Scholarship program. Find out more by contacting Dennis Langley (dlangley@mcaa.org) or visiting www.mcerf.org.
