| MCAA National Update for June 25, 2012 |
BE INSPIRED AT MSCA LIVE 2012 When it comes to meeting...and beating...almost insurmountable challenges, Dick Hoyt and his wheelchair-bound son Rick are the champs. Rick, who has cerebral palsy, refused to let his disability impede his desire for a full and happy life--independence and inclusion in community, sports, education and the workplace and a degree from Boston University are among his accomplishments. Wanting to support his son's life goals, Dick started running marathon races with Rick in 1977; today, Team Hoyt has completed over 1,075 races. At MSCA LIVE 2012, Dick will share his insights into the world of disabilities and how the spirit behind "Yes You Can" opened up a world of possibilities for Rick...and maybe for you too. Don't miss this heart-warming presentation and the other exceptional programs that are part of MSCA LIVE 2012. Register today at www.msca.org/msca2012 and enjoy Early Bird savings. |

UA'S VIP PROGRAM PUTS VETS TO WORK IN THE HVAC INDUSTRY
MSCA members--McKinstry Company (Seattle, WA), MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions (Seattle, WA) and MESA Energy Systems/EMCOR (Irvine, CA)--have just hired the first students to graduate from the UA Veterans In Piping HVACR program. The UA's program is 18 weeks (720 hours) of intensive HVACR training during which military veterans will complete the following UA certifications: UA 51 brazing; 410 A; OSHA 30-hour; CFC; and CPR. At the conclusion of the class, students will take the UA Star Light Commercial HVACR exam. The program also focuses on the value and importance of customer relations. It not only consists of classroom instruction, but also shop classes where students get involved with many hands-on projects.
