FIND OUT HOW WATER AUDITING SERVICES CAN GROW YOUR BUSINESS
For plumbing contractors, water auditing is a powerful driver for creating new business, customer trust, and repeat clients. By assessing a facility's water use, contractors can leverage their product knowledge and estimating expertise to calculate savings in water, sewer, and hot water generation expenses. If water auditing services could fit into your company's strategic plan, consider attending the Plumbing Contractors of America's (PCA) Water Audit Seminar on June 7 at the Boston Marriott, Newton, MA. Led by Troy Aichele, the four-hour seminar will give you the information and tools you need to make water auditing a valuable, profitable and popular service for your company's existing and future customers. DEADLINE NEARS FOR STUDENT INTERNSHIP GRANT REQUESTS
The May 15 deadline is fast approaching for MCAA/MSCA members who are planning to request a 2012 Student Internship Grant. Once again, MCAA's Career Development Committee is making available grants with funding provided by the Mechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation (MCERF) to MCAA/MSCA members who hire college students as interns, preferably with plans to pursue a career in our industry. The grants are for $1,200 (one per company) and they are to help offset the intern's salary. The student gains experience working in our industry and his/her employer benefits from the student's energy, fresh perspective, knowledge about new technologies and much more. If you have already lined up one or more interns for this summer or you're beginning your search, consider applying for a grant. Go to http://www.mcaa.org/careers/grants to download the information. |

SOUTHERN TIER OF NEW YORK MCA MAKES FIRST-TIME DONATION TO MCERF
The Mechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation (MCERF) recently received a $500 contribution from the Southern Tier of New York MCA to "assist the mechanical contracting industry in its continuous pursuit towards excellence." Meredith Kumpon, executive director of the association, explained, "We are a very small organization. However, it is important to us, despite these difficult economic times, to continue to support research and education in the mechanical contracting industry." Toward that end and along with the MCERF donation, the association recently helped form the first MCAA student chapter in New York at the University of Binghamton. Kumpon said, "It is our belief that applying our time, money, and expertise into assisting the next generation of graduates will allow us to bring the best and brightest into our field." The MCERF Board of Trustees thanks the Southern Tier of New York MCA for its donation and support. Find out more about MCERF and its programs at www.mcerf.org or contact Dennis Langley (dlangley@mcaa.org). |
