HIRING A SUMMER INTERN? APPLY FOR AN MCAA STUDENT INTERNSHIP GRANT
If you're planning to hire a college student for the summer-preferably a major in mechanical engineering, construction management, architectural engineering or a major related to our industry-then consider applying for a 2012 Student Internship Grant. Once again, MCAA is making available these grants with funding provided by the Mechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation (MCERF). MCAA members who hire student interns may qualify for one $1,200 grant to help them offset the intern's salary. The student gains experience working in our industry and his/her employer benefits from the student's fresh perspective, knowledge about new technologies and much more. It's a win-win for everyone. If you've already lined up an intern for this summer or you're beginning your search, consider applying for a grant. Applications are due May 15. To find out more, go to http://www.mcaa.org/careers/grants to download the information. Please contact Ann Mattheis (amattheis@mcaa.org) with questions. |
BENICIA PLUMBING CONTRIBUTES TO MCERF...AGAIN!
Some habits are worth keeping, especially when they involve annual contributions to the Mechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation (MCERF). Once again, Benicia Plumbing, Inc. (Benicia, CA), a long-time member of the Northern California MCA, sent a $1,000 contribution to the Foundation in support of its education and research activities. The MCERF Board of Trustees is very grateful to Benicia Plumbing for its generous donation. Find out more about MCERF programs and activities at www.mcerf.org. |
QUALIFIED-LEVEL ARC FLASH SAFETY TRAINING IS COMING BACK!
If you or your staff missed MCAA's and MSCA's NFPA 70E Qualified-Level Arc Flash Safety Training sessions earlier this month, you're in luck!
