It's the best investment you'll make all year as you put to work great ideas about growing your business and profits. Go to www.mcaa.org/mcaa2012 to look over our program and then register.

AN EXEMPLARY SAFETY PROGRAM DESERVES RECOGNITION
A superb safety program may be its best reward, but it deserves recognition and an award as well. The MCAA/CNA Annual Safety Awards program recognizes and honors contractor members that have achieved excellence in managing safe operations throughout their business. To get started, you must complete and submit your company's safety statistics on an online form. If your program meets the eligibility requirements for an award, you will automatically receive a safety awards application electronically. Completed applications are due to MCAA no later than February 17, 2012. Go to www.mcaa.org/safetyawards for more information and the online form for submission of your 2011 safety statistics. This program is free as a benefit of MCAA membership. Please contact Pete Chaney with questions (pchaney@mcaa.org).
COMING THIS SUMMER... AN UPDATED TOOL & EQUIPMENT RENTAL GUIDE
The publication that has become a staple in your business - the 2012-2013 Tool & Equipment Rental Guide - will be released in early summer and MCAA members will receive free access as a benefit of membership. The new edition will include the comprehensive, current cost recovery information you've come to rely on, along with a variety of resources to help you adjust the information for your market. And, since we're always looking for ways to serve you better, please send your suggestions for the upcoming guide to Adrienne Breedlove (abreedlove@mcaa.org) by March 1, 2012.
MCAA'S 2012 NATIONAL ISSUES CONFERENCE TAKES SHAPE
MCAA's National Issues Conference, held in conjunction with other industry specialty subcontractor allied groups in the Quality Construction Alliance (QCA), is taking shape for May 2-5 in Washington D.C. Program elements will include: Department of Labor initiatives, Pension Benefit Guaranty program issues, the National Coordinating Committee for Multiemployer Plans' Pension Review Commission, a construction industry market forecast by prominent industry economist Anirban Basu, and a presentation on federal budget issues by Stan Collender, an expert on federal fiscal and monetary policies. In addition, Dr. Sarah Slaughter of MIT, a national expert on green and sustainable building programs, will lead a Congressional information session on green and sustainable building issues. Also in the works are plans for legislative issue briefings, a Capitol Hill reception, and Congressional office appointments. This conference will provide an informative, interesting and effective opportunity for MCAA and QCA members to continue leading in pressing Congress and federal agencies for the best interests of the industry on a broad range of national issues. Please register now for the program at www.mcaa.org/education.
LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
MCAA is working with House Small Business Committee members and staff in reviewing and supporting a number of legislative and administrative reforms to the Small Business Administration's contracting program as well as other construction contracting reforms under consideration by committee members. MCAA is also participating in the National Coordinating Committee for Multiemployer Plans' (NCCMP) Retirement Security Review Commission, which is considering a broad scope of fundamental multiemployer pension plan reform issues in preparation for the rewrite of the Pension Protection Act that will come before Congress in 2013.
