The Week Leading up to Trinity Sunday

Thought of the Week

As we bask in the afterglow of a wonderful Sunday evening Evensong, I invite you to settle in for another eventful and enjoyable weekend ahead.  This Friday night we will be gathering for some great food and company poolside at the Wolf's home.  As you can see by the pictures below, a great time was had last year.  Then on Sunday we will gather to celebrate our Sunday School Teachers who do so much to form in our young people the understanding of what it means to live a joyfully faithful life.  We will also recognize Matt Billet and Julian Weisner, two accomplished acolytes as they engage in the new life of higher education.

I have a strong belief that in these joyful culminating weeks we get to experience the essence of what it means to have life abundant.  To celebrate members of our church who teach the Good News every week is such a blessing.  To recognize the service of the acolytes who have been such an integral part of our worship for numerous years as they go off to study and grow is a moment of seeing the fulfillment of formation at St. Stephen's.  To acknowledge the gifts of our choir as they begin their Summer respite is to remember all the times they have moved our hearts and souls this year.

Further, to gather for a burger and go for a swim together on Friday night is so obviously a declaration that fun is a part of who we are as a community that we can hardly miss that our shared humanity as Church has joy at its heart.

I can't wait to see you all this weekend!

See you at the grill, in the pool, and in church,

Fr. Josh
