The Week Leading up to The Day of Pentecost

Thought of the Week

This Sunday we celebrate the birthday of the church.  We call it Pentecost.  On Pentecost the community of faith was gathered and the Holy Spirit came upon them and made them the Church.   You can read about it in the second chapter of Acts by clicking on the link for this week's scripture readings below. One outcome of this sanctification was that all of a sudden everyone could understand each other.  People who didn't speak the same language were having conversations.  The barrier of worldliness was removed and connection was inspired.

As you know we are having a sort of birthday party for the Church Sunday night.  We call it Evensong.  At Evensong we will share in the universal language of music and prayer.  We will gather and allow the Holy Spirit to move us.  You and everyone you know are invited to come and let your hearts be filled with the joy and peace of God's Love, God's Holy Spirit.

See you in church!

Fr. Josh
