Thought of the Week

The Alleluias have been brought back.  The Hyacinths have been hoisted.  The eggs have all been found (hopefully).  The office has almost recovered from bulletin-folding elbow (a rare but not too serious hazard in the industry).  Now what?  Now we Baptize! 

Easter is a season that is 50 days long and an appropriate time to invite new members into the community of faith, the Church.  So, on May 8^th we will Baptize Neil Francis Condon at the 10:00 am service.  We will have a guest preacher, The Rev. Canon Andrew Deitsche whom you may remember as he also preached at my Institution as your Rector.  So, I hope that you can join us in a couple of weeks as we continue to celebrate Easter and as we incorporate Neil's soul into the fabric of our Body, the Body of Christ, the Church.

New Adult Education 

On May 15 we will start a new Adult Education series focussing on different sermons by well known liturgical preachers concerning Easter.  Each time we gather we will either watch, hear, or read a sermon and then discuss.  Please join us Sunday mornings at 9:00 in the Bethany Room for these fun and informative discussions.

Vertical Tour of St. John The Divine
The Youth Group will be attending a private Vertical Tour of the Cathedral on Saturday, June 4th at 10 am.  We would like to extend an invitation to the congregation as well as friends; you are all welcome to participate.  Please RSVP to office.ststephens@gmail.com by Sunday, May 29th if you plan on joining us.
