To help with the recent flood victims CACCE is endorsing the Tuscaloosa Chamber. Chamber staff are working 16- and 20-hour days managing information on the recovery and serving as contacts for distressed businesses. While the chamber is not looking for donations, new members are welcome - a great way to provide a small amount of financial relief while expressing solidarity in a way that every chamber understands. Allen owns a major transportation company in the Charlotte area. When I met him today for the first time, he had just come from church and was dressed in a pressed, button-down shirt and Dockers. His wife was in a lovely dress. Allen told me how much he'd enjoyed the service this morning, but what REALLY impressed him was this young musician who'd performed during the service. Congratulations to the Laurinburg/Scotland County (NC) Area Chamber of Commerce for being a finalist in the 2011 Chamber of the Year Award Program.
The Chamber is nominated for the $450,000 and under Total Revenue Catagory. The interviews will take place on August 3rd in Los Angeles, California. The final winners will be announced during an Awards Evening on August 4th. Good luck and congratulations Laurinburg/Scotland County (NC) Area Chamber of Commerce!
