Welcome back to the April issue of our monthly newsletters from the Manhattan Beach Young Professionals.

Beer Tasting: More Information

Help Those in Need

MBYP is partnering with ATEAM Shoe Shop and Soles 4 Souls to provide shoes for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Please bring an old pair of shoes to the Beer Festival on April 21 where ATEAM will be on hand to collect the shoes for Soles 4 Souls, who will be delivering them to Japan.

Everyone has an old pair of shoes lying around, so please bring them with you and help support this worthy cause.

Drink Responsibly

sb_yellow MBYP has also partnered with South Bay Yellow Cab to provide taxi service at the beer festival. Not only will we be raffling off $100 in cab fare, but SB Yellow cabs will be on hand to provide transportation.

For those that may need to leave their cars overnight, we have made arrangements with Manhattan Beach Toyota to keep your cars on the lot until the following day.

March Event Recap

Speed Networking

On March 10th at the Hacienda Hotel in El Segundo, over 100 young professionals came together to network and grow their businesses through our 3rd annual Speed Networking Event. Participants were able to make over 40 new business contacts in just over 2 hours.

That night MBYP board members also presented We Can Pediatric Brain Tumor Network with a check for $3,500. We Can was chosen as the MBYP charity for the 2010-2011 fiscal year and the majority of funds were raised at the MBYP Holiday Party back in December.

We Can offers information and emotional support to families whose children have brain tumors. We Can brings families together to meet, share their stories, and equip each other to manage the treatment and recovery of their children. For more information, please go to: www.wecan.cc.
