Our
April Mixer held at 12+Highland in Manhattan Beach was an event you
would not have wanted to miss! Well over 100 guests attended the event,
in the high energy atmosphere of 12+Highland! Not to be outdone by the
Lakers playoff game, NFL draft, and Dodgers game on the multiple
plasmas, those in attendance were definitely mixing things up with many
different networking ideas and marketing strategies to help promote, and
grow their business.
The seemingly never ending trays of passed hor
d'oeuvres, featured caprese, chicken tenders, and shrimp cocktail, were a
nice compliment to keep the energy high as people made their way from
connection to connection. A big thank you to Frank & Nick Dellone of
12+Highland, for not only hosting the event, and sponsoring the passed
hor d'oeuvres, but also for donating a $100 gift certificate for dinner at
their restaurant. Also an additional thank you to Beach Massage for
donating a 55 minute Swedish Massage for our raffle!

Community Day with the Seniors

One
of the wonderful aspects of the Manhattan Beach Young Professionals is
the opportunity to be able to give time to our community. On Saturday
April 17, 2010, several of our MBYP members volunteered for the MBYP
computer training day with the seniors at the Manhattan Beach Joslyn
Center. The Young Professionals were paired up with
seniors to give them one-on-one computer training from surfing the web
to working with formulas on excel. It was a wonderful
experience for the seniors and MBYPs. We look forward to making this an
annual MBYP Community service event. |

Member Spotlight: Michelle Sexton
| |
The Manhattan Beach Young Professionals are proud to announce Michelle Sexton of South Bay Brokers as MBYP's Honorary Member of the Month for May. The group recognizes a Member of the Month that has contributed above and beyond the call of duty for the Manhattan Beach Young Professionals.
Michelle Sexton is a Realtor with South Bay Brokers, Inc.
and an active and dedicated citizen of the South Bay. Currently a board member of YPC a young
professional committee apart of the South Bay Association of Realtors, the
Ambassador for MBYP and in June will be a board member for the Manhattan Beach
Chamber of Commerce. Also, she is the
Co-Lead of Leadership Manhattan Beach Class of 2010's Signs of the Sea class
project and has been nominated to be on the board of Leadership Manhattan Beach
as the Program Director starting June 2010. Michelle and her husband Shaun have two incredible children,
Tyler 4 and Madison 2, a rescue cat and rescue dog (Weimaraner Chiwawa
mix). They also plan on celebrating
their 10 year wedding anniversary this July.
Shaun and Michelle bought their first home in 2002 when Michelle was
only 21; Michelle loved the experience so much that she chose to make it her
profession. She learned early that
buying and selling a home is a very personal and emotional process. Michelle's goal as a Realtor is to make the experience
for people enjoyable and as seamless as possible. She takes pride in being very knowledgeable,
understanding and consistent with all her clients. Michelle's favorite quote is "Life is not
measured by the breaths you take but by the moments that take your breath
away". |
