An Event Like No Other...
On January 2--5, 2012, hundreds of Young Preachers, mentors, volunteers, conveners, and special guests gathered at the Seelbach Hilton Hotel for the 3rd National Festival of Young Preachers. On behalf of the Academy of Preachers staff and 2012 National Festival Steering Committee, THANK YOU for choosing to spend the first days of a new year with us, and THANK YOU for making this National Festival our best Festival yet!
We are eager to see the direction the Academy of Preachers will take in the coming year. Our commitment to Identify, Network, Support and Inspire young people pursuing a call to Gospel preaching is stronger than ever.
My Festival Experience Everyone had a unique experience at the National Festival, and many participants went on to share that experience with the world in the days following the event.
Young Preachers Tina Heise, Wes Spears, Jason Ketz, and Kadri Webb blogged about their time at the Festival, and you can click on their names to read their individual entries. Second-year Festival preacher Laura Gerstl was featured in the Milwaukee Sentinel Journal; Nick Joyner received a spot in the Green County Daily World in Linton, Ind.; and Louisville's Tim Cloud was featured in Kentucky's Western Recorder. Meanwhile, Peter Wallace with AoP Founding Partner Day1 shared his Festival experience with the Huffington Post. We have enjoyed reading these and other stories. If you would like to share your Festival experience, email charissa.acree@gmail.com. YouTube, Sermon Videos and More We look forward to posting sermons from the 2012 National Festival to YouTube in the coming month. Feel free to visit our newest playlist on YouTube to watch Young Preachers talk about their Festival experience "In Their Own Words." You can also watch first-year Young Preachers Carlene Demiany and Rashad Moore deliver impromptu sermons during a live TV segment filmed during the Festival! In addition to YouTube, we are posting photos from the event to Facebook on a daily basis. Visit us there and visit often to stay up to date on the latest photos, news and events. (To purchase a copy of your 2012 sermon on DVD, email charissa.acree@gmail.com). Full Steam Ahead We look forward to sharing with you the many powerful ways this organization is impacting the lives of young people across the country. Mark your calendars for the 2013 National Festival, January 2-5, in Atlanta, Georgia, and stay tuned for registration information and news about upcoming Campus and Regional Festivals.
Blessings to you and yours in this New Year!
Sincerely, Dwight A. Moody Founder & President Gospel Catalyst
