Greetings!
Here is the first of many design ideas coming your way from The Beading Room. We hope to get one a week to you-to give you inspiration and inform you about some of the wonderful products we stock.
This week's design features our pretty Chinese Lampwork Beads, which are really impressive for a great, low price. In with this we mix our popular Miracle Beads and versatile Cat's Eye Rondelles.
Miracle Beads vary so much in quality. They are manufactured primarily in two countries-China and Japan. They also can be made of either glass or lacquer (ok, plastic:)).
Our Miracle Beads are manufactured in China and are made by layering lacquer and metal particles-this gives them their 'floating ball' effect. When the light hits Miracle Beads, it reflects off the metal particles and gives the illusion of a ball of light in the center of each bead. They truly add so much to whatever you are creating.
'But aren't the glass ones better?' we hear you ask. They are stunning, no doubt. But they cost a lot more and are very weighty. The great thing about our good quality lacquer ones are they are very lightweight, meaning you can pile them on , cluster them, dangle lots and they are still comfortable to wear (especially important with earrings. They are also great for adding to pieces with lots of weighty metal and glass-to fill them out without adding more bulk. The lampwork beads and cat's eye rondelles are quite heavy, so the Miracle Beads serve their purpose well in this design.
Our other main component in this design is Stretch Magic beading elastic. Oh, and a few bead caps to enhance the miracle beads.
We hope you enjoy this affordable and easy-to make design. It is great for a project to do with children, as a gift, and of course for yourself! When you have beautiful beads like these lampwork ones, sometimes simplicity is best.
