E-BLAST:

DEEP CREEK LAKE WATER LEVELS

Last week the POA sent a letter to the DCL Policy and Review Board Chairman David Myerberg, requesting him to again revisit the lower than normal water level issue as it is apparent the new permit the Maryland Department of the Environment issued to Brookfield Power this year, did little if nothing to improve late summer water levels in certain coves.

With the help of The Save Deep Creek website administrators, we quickly pulled together a summary that showed even though we had more rain this summer, there is nothing different this year with regard to the water levels at this time of year compared with last year or the year before

Chairman Myerberg has scheduled a special Policy and Review Board meeting to discuss this single issue, to be held this Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the State Park Discovery Center at 6 pm. If the location of the meeting happens to change, I will send out a subsequent E-Blast notifying you.

I urge you to attend if able, if you are in anyway affected by the lower water levels.

Regards,

Lou Battistella

President POA
