Thursday is National HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
The National Association for People with AIDS is using next Thursday to promote HIV/AIDS awareness. The association's web site states the following awareness goals:
Routine HIV testing for all - every 3 to 6 months for gay men and others in high-risk groups. Immediate access to HIV treatment and support services for everyone who tests positive. An end to the HIV stigma and homophobia that keep too many people from even getting tested. Because it's much harder to pass the virus on to others when getting effective treatment.
