There are $27 billion reasons to join us for our upcoming webinar . That's how much research indicates the U.S. health system would save if e-prescribing were widely adopted. What's your plan's share? Find out more by joining us for our webinar at 12:00 noon CST featuring one of Wisconsin's physician leaders on e-prescribing, Dr. Trevver Buss and our own Wayne Salverda. May is Allergy Awareness Month. Allergy season presents an opportunity to communicate with enrollees about money saving over-the-counter (OTC) medications. OTC options now include Allegra as well as brand and generic formulations of Claritin and Zyrtec. These are available to enrollees without a prescription and in many cases, cost less than the enrollee's co-pay for alternative prescription products.
In addition, these medications continue to be FSA (Flexible Spending Account) eligible in 2011 with a prescription regardless of whether or not these medications are covered under your pharmacy benefit. Check out the FAQs about OTCs available in the members area of our website to learn more about ways in which you may be able to encourage these low cost alternatives or contact your in-house pharmacist, Wayne Salverda, for more information at 866-679-9479, extension 233.
