Greetings!

Happy New Year! Data West is excited about the start of a new year and the events and changes it will bring. One event to put on your calendar for August is the 2011 BillMaster User Conference. One change that you'll be sure to notice is the two new employees, Shanna and Joan. A temporary change that will begin in February is office manager, Karen Berger, will be on maternity leave (having the cutest baby boy ever). If you need assistance ordering statements, have questions about your Data West statement, or anything else Karen has helped you with in the past, please contact Julie or Tracy.

Welcome New Support Techs

Data West is pleased to introduce our two new support techs, Shanna Stordahl and Joan Green.
Shanna

You may recognize a familiar voice on our tech support team belonging to Shanna Stordahl. Shanna has returned to Data West after taking a few years off. Shanna has many years of technical experience with two previous years with Data West.

Joan

Joan Green brings 25 years experience in software technology, including professional certifications in Project Management. She is committed to excellent customer service, and continuous improvement in project processes. Her goal is to contribute strongly in making your Data West experience even better.

2011 User Conference

This year's Data West User Conference will be held August 10th and 11th with a pre-Conference workshop on August 9th. Tech Tip

Prerequisites for Intelligent Mail Bar-Coding

If you are printing your BillMaster statements in-house and want to add Intelligent Mail Bar-coding here are a couple of things you will need do before contacting us:

1. Have your IT department confirm that your BillMaster Server is running Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or greater.

2. Obtain your mailer id, the barcode id, and the service type id from your local post office. The mailer id should be a 6 or 9 digit number. The barcode id is 2 digits and the service type id is 3 digits. All 3 of these numbers are provided to you by your local post office and are necessary in order for BillMaster to use Intelligent Mail Bar-coding.

Please note that dot matrix printers cannot print Intelligent Mail Barcodes. If you are using postcard statements that are printed on a dot matrix printer, you will not be able to add this bar-coding.
