APRIL FOOL FUN
PLAN NOW FOR APRIL FOOLS DAY ON SUNDAY Here are a few pranks for you to try:
- Stuff the toes of your family's shoes with paper towels and watch them try to put them on.
- Add a few drops of red or green food coloring to the cardboard container of your milk or coffee cream.
- If you have a sink with a sprayer, put a rubber band around the handle when nobody's looking. Make sure the nozzle is pointing outward and the next person to use the sink will get an 'April shower'!
- Superglue some coins to the sidewalk or any spot that has a lot of people walking around, then watch people try to pick them up.
- Stick a plastic ant just inside your toothpaste tube.
- Change the clock alarms in your home to an inconvenient time. (ouch)

HEALTH TIP
THE SNACK THAT'S GOOD FOR YOUR HEART
Since there's been so much coverage of antioxidants in the media, you may be aware of the health benefits of a glass of red wine, but don't forget the grapes themselves. Information from Cardiologist, Dr. Martha Grogan of the Mayo Clinic states that grapes are also rich in the same health-protecting antioxidants, including resveratrol and flavonoids. These antioxidants are found mainly in the skin, stem, leaf and seeds of grapes, rather than in their pulp. Dark red and purple grapes tend to be higher in antioxidants than white or green grapes. Benefits may include:
- Reducing the risk of blood clots
- Reducing low-density lipoprotein (LDL, or "bad") cholesterol
- Preventing damage to blood vessels in your heart
- Helping maintain a healthy blood pressure
NOTE: Grapes keep well in the freezer and make a fun, frozen treat!

SPRING CLEANING?
MAKE YOUR OWN CLEANING PRODUCTS
If you walk down the cleaning aisle at your supermarket, you would think that you'll need a different cleaner for every surface in your home. If you don't want to buy and have to store a dozen or more different products, here are some simple recipes using products from your pantry that will do a variety of jobs. These natural products are also more environmentally friendly than the commercial alternatives. Click Here

FUN CHICK EGG Here is a quick and easy little snack that will bring smiles to your children or party quests. It's just a hardboiled egg with black sesame seeds for the eyes and a cut carrot for the beak. ENJOY! |

GOOD ADVICE!
WHEN A COMPANY LETS YOU DOWN...
At one time or another, each of us will have a problem with a product or service. The Bottom Line Publication offers this advice to resolve it which we believe is worth quoting.
"Browse the company's website, ads and any other printed materials for written statements about its standards, mission or the high quality it delivers. Write them down, then calmly and politely quote them to a company representative. Next, describe the problems you encountered, and ask the rep to gauge how your experience measures up to this promise or mission. If the employee agrees that your experience fell short, ask what he/she can do make up for this. If the employee will not admit that you deserve compensation, calmly ask how the CEO of the company might react if he/she were brought into this conversation. ... Most employees would rather give a customer a discount or perk than risk negative career consequences, particularly if the customer is friendly and polite."

TAX TIP REMINDER
When computing deductions on your tax return, remember to include the sales tax on any big ticket items you may have purchased last year. This requires collecting the evidence of sales tax paid for things like automobiles, boats, or airplanes, as well as building materials for home improvements.
