The Parking Professional: What Were They Thinking? |
Last year's dramatic redesign of The Parking Professional drew a lot of attention from both its readers and the publications community, which recognized it with several prominent awards. One of those was a Gold award from Association Media and Publishing, whose members are publishers and editors of association magazines and other publications (a story about The Parking Professional's redesign ran in the January/February 2012 issue of their Signature magazine.
For their part, Association Media and Publishing asked our designers at BonoTom Studio how the redesign came to be. Art Director Abigail Noonan wrote, "At first we thought the subject matter might be a bit of a challenge. It's easy to dismiss parking as boring or irrelevant. But there was so much beauty in the provided pictures. And the articles were about things to do with our lives, with everyone's lives. The research that we did into parking inspired us and we wanted other people to be able to see this magazine the way we did. So we worked on it. . . for months."
The rest of her story is fascinating. Read it HERE.
