Announcing IPI's Free Online ShopTalks for Members Only |
You spoke and we listened! Starting in February, IPI will host monthly Online ShopTalks exclusively for Members. These free roundtable discussions will focus on topics submitted by members and allow for the sharing of best practices, new ideas, and networking with other parking professionals interested in similar issues.
Registration is now open for the first Online ShopTalk: Ideas to Stretch Your Budget on Tuesday, Febrauary 28, at 1:00 p.m. EST. This inaugural virtual roundtable will provide an opportunity for IPI members to discuss how peers are dealing with smaller budgets and more responsibilities through partnerships, collaborations, and other means. Participants are encouraged to bring their problems and solutions.

Deadline for Professional Recognition Awards is February 15 |
Now is the time to recognize people and organizations that have made exemplary contributions to parking professionalism this year. Submit nominations for the 2012 Professional Recognition Program awards. Honorees will be named in the following categories:
- Parking Professional of the Year (for management/supervisory staff who direct an entire operation or manage multiple units within a department).
- Parking Supervisor of the Year (supervises one or more employees within a department responsible for only one unit within the department).
- Parking Staff Member of the Year (for front-line staff).
- Parking Organization of the Year (for public or private organizations, departments, consultants, suppliers, commercial operators, etc.).

Congratulations to IPI Board Member Rick Decker, assistant manager, parking operations at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on his recent selection to the serve on the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Panel on "Repairing and Maintaining Airport Parking Structures While in Use." The panel will synthesize existing information on the topic for publication.
