Focusing on the Front Line Employees - Florida Parking Association's Carol Easterling Award

Earlier this month, the Florida Parking Association (FPA) held their 32nd Annual Conference and tradeshow in sunny Fort Myers. This year, the FPA Board of Directors wanted to shine a bright light on the efforts of our front line employees. To this end, we revamped the Carol Easterling Award, which is named after a longtime FPA Board Member who was an advocate for the inclusion of those front line employees in FPA annual conferences. Out of seven top-notch nominations received by the FPA board, three regional winners were chosen to represent the South, Central, and Northern regions of the state:

  • David Brown, Miami Parking Authority - Metershop Supervisor (Southern Region)

  • Jacqueline Sablain, University of Central Florida - Head Clerk (Central Region)

  • Anthony Wicks, University of Florida - Impound Clerk/Dispatcher (Northern Region)

The regional winners received complimentary registrations and hotel accommodations to the FPA conference, and were provided with a digital HD cameras to create a "day in the life" video that was shown at the conference. These short videos gave us a glimpse of their daily routine and showcased their organizations. FPA's goal of shining a bright light on the efforts of our front line employees, who are arguably the most important assets in any of our organizations, was met.

The grand prize winner, Jacqueline Sablain, University of Central Florida, received complimentary registration to the 2012 IPI Conference & Expo in Phoenix, along with hotel accommodations. Jacqueline was chosen from the regional winners for her enthusiasm and willingness to help her co-workers. She will represent all front line employees from the Florida Region in 2012!  You can see Jacqueline's winning video on the IPI YouTube page
