Parking Matters on Black Friday
Parking Matters logo Registered
This week, IPI distributed a consumer-oriented news feature to print, broadcast, and wire service media outlets, as well as bloggers throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The article was titled, "Parking Experts Offer  Shoppers 10 Tips for Black Friday and the Holiday Season." Within hours of release, we were already getting media pick-up on this timely story. Read the complete feature here. We'll update you on the coverage generated in the next issue of the IPInsider, but if you see the article in your local newspapers, please let us know. And, for our members for whom Black Friday and holiday shopping is a particular issue, we hope educating consumers through this type of article offers some assistance. Thanks to Safety and Security Committee Co-Chairs Greg Stormberg and Geary Robinson for their assistance on this project.

Happy Thanksgiving from Everyone at IPI
ThanksgivingcartoonThere is no better time to say thank you. Thanks to all of our loyal members and dedicated volunteers. Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

IPI Educates and Learns at PAV and GVF Meetings

IPI staff recently attended and spoke at the Parking Association of the Virginia's Fall meeting and a meeting of the GVF, a not-for-profit organization created to advocate for and promote a viable transportation network for Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Both meetings provided fantastic opportunities for IPI to discuss the results of our recent report, "Emerging Trends in the Parking Industry," and inform attendees of the many programs and benefits IPI has to offer. More importantly, IPI staff got a chance to learn more about the issues facing parking and transportation professionals so we can better meet the needs of our members in the future. Thanks to our wonderful hosts.

Meetings like these are a great place to network with your peers and learn about the lastest technologies and trends that help you as a parking professional. Find out what meetings are in your area by searching the IPI calendar of meetings and events

IPI's Next Webinar

Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. EST

Instructor: Clyde B. Wilson, Jr., President, The Parking Network, Inc. and Lila Murray, CEO, The Parking Network, Inc.

Instead of presenting you with a dry how-to audit or boring you with an analysis of yet another parking operation, this webinar will take you on the road with a distinguished audit team. The case studies shared, which are real stories from the road, will demonstrate the wide range in which operations may be compromised and subsequently improved.
We are all in the parking business. In the parking business there are a lot of people working in the field doing mundane repetitive tasks for extensive hours, which translates into a lot of people having a lot of free time. Any one person handling cash, even in the best circumstances, may begin to wonder...how could I beat the system?
The parking business is full of so many details that it is impossible to think of everything. Audits are not about a particular field employee or manager. Audits are about managing a surprisingly complicated, dynamic system that is full of loopholes on the best day. The goal of an audit is to improve operations, to make sure the budget is available to purchase controls and hire enough good people to efficiently manage the parking operation and provide great customer service.
This webinar is your ticket to the road show that will enlighten you on how to use audits to benefit your operations and bottom line.
