Do you need more customers NOW? We all do but the question is how do we get them. There are only two ways that you can bring more money into your business, 1) Get more customers and 2) Get your customers to spend more. Read on because I will give you 4 quick things that you can do to get more customers later.
My business was up in August 19.3% over last year August. How was yours? I'm not bragging or wanting to make you feel bad. I want you to think, what is he doing that I am not doing? You could use many excuses like "The economy sucks", "All my customers are looking for a job". "He's just lucky", "No one's spending . These may all be somewhat true but I've heard it all and it's BS! It's an excuse to make you feel better. Don't give in to it. You are better than that.
Please don't be offended, I'm just trying to help you look at you business a little differently.
My business is up because I didn't sit back and wait for the economy to get better. I busted my butt, refusing to participate in a "bad economy". I didn't complain how bad is was. I searched out people who were doing good and studied what they were doing. I went outside the sewing and vacuum industry to find out what was working and then tried it in my business to see if it worked. I didn't try just one thing and waited to see if it worked, I tried many things all at once. Some worked and some didn't but it didn't stop me from trying.
But here's the big thing, you are no different than I am. You can also grow you business no matter what the economy. First, you have to believe you can and second, you can't listen to anyone who says you can't.
There are many things that you can do to get more customers but here are a four that you can do right now and they are basically free.
- Register domain names that include words that people are using to search for your product. An example would be www.vacuumservicedallas.com or www.brothersewingmachinedallas.com . There are many other words that you can use but if you check on how people are finding your website, you will have a good idea what words will help you move up on the search engines.
- Search for your store name and see what search sites shows up. Go to as many of them as you can like Google Maps, foursquare, Yelp, local.yahoo, yellowbot, yellowpages, merchant circle and claim your listing. The list goes on and on but if you don't claim your listing then your competitor can.
- Have your customers go on the above sites and write comments about your store. What they say will mean a lot more than anything you say.
- Add video's to your website. All you need is a flip camera and a quick walk through of your store. A customer came in my store yesterday and said "I know you." and purchased a $900 vacuum.
These may sound simple but they will work for you and are all very easy to do. They are definitely things that you didn't think of five years ago but things that you need to do now.
