Flex dies and gummers from one source |
|
We have a long tradition of producing premium size tools with a long lifetime. Our tools are continuously being developed and optimized based on customer input. In doing so new manufacturing methods are initiated resulting in reduced price and delivery times of our flex dies.
 W+D now offers its customers in the envelope industry, gummer tools for the window and seal flap gumming with our proven original quality. We have extended our Flatrate Pool of the flex dies with the corresponding window gummers. The Flatrate Pool not only means an enormous price advantage but all gummers are also available within 1-2 days. Now choose your products from the Flatrate Pool of the window gummers.
In a few weeks, we will also change additional window gummers and seal flap gummers over to this new manufacturing method. We will keep you informed about this in our next Service Newsletter at the end of January 2010.
W+D attaches great importance to the usage of high-quality gummer materials in lieu of low-cost reproductions or rubber replacements in order to keep to a high quality standard. This will give you maximum lifetime and functionality for a safe production.

"Dump the Hump" in favor of a straight paper web on your 102 machine
As previously mentioned in Service Newsletter, we are now presenting a used 102 machine (1990 vintage) with the tower or hump removed here in Neuwied.
The initial results are completely positive especially as it relates to product quality and the stability on the window film application.
This modification was done in cooperation with our used machine division, POEM. During this tower modification, the side-folding and the score section were placed in a straight processing line and in addition the machine was also rebuilt with the well known high-level POEM quality .This includes the rework of the major spare and wear parts and the installation of our energy efficient TIP Modification "Infrared seal gum drying"
After this modification and rebuilding we increased the production speed of the machine significantly. Prior to carrying out this work, the machine was in production with 550 epm and now we are able to show the machine on a size (110mm by 228mm), standard window and seal gum, running steady at approximately 840 epm.
