The W+D Type 214 offset printing presses are considered as very solid and robust machines. More than 15 years after the presentation of the first machine, almost all machines are still in daily use.
Four-color offset printing requires a higher level of precision register. Variations, due to wear and tear, can affect the ability to produce top quality. POEM has developed a reconditioning program for these older machines.
The reconditioning is done by qualified personnel at the POEM workshop in Neuwied. POEM tries to have a reconditioned 214 available on the floor at all times, which gives you the possibility to replace your 214 in need of repair with an already reconditioned machine.
During the reconditioning process all critical areas are covered and the 214 is nearly disassembled to the base frame.
After a basic cleaning, the reconditioning starts by changing all wheel hubs for the impression cylinders, the appropriate keys and other pertinent parts. The plate and rubber blanket cylinders, as well as all rubber rollers, are reconditioned or even replaced. Only W+D original parts are used for the reconditioning.

The advantage of having your Model 214 fully reconditioned is a clear increase in quality and reliability of your machine. In addition, this will add resale value to your machine.
Each machine that is reconditioned is marked with a POEM plate indicating the year of reconditioning.

Please contact us if you would like to set up a visit to see a reconditioned 214 machine in Neuwied or if you would like to speak with a POEM representative about the quality and sustainability of the reconditioning scheme.
